Grace is ONE!

It was 4:45 am on August 11th, 2010 when we left our small apartment to drive across town to meet our little girl. After what seemed to be the longest two hours of our lives the nurses finally came in to wheel me away. I was placed in a freezing cold room given a huge shot in my back and then they cut me open and lifted my little girl from her safe haven at 7:53 am. She entered the world at 6 pounds and 9 ounces 18 inches long. Even though my hands were strapped to the bed they laid her beside me so I could kiss her for the first time. Words can never describe what I felt at that moment. As tears filled my eyes I looked into her beautiful blue eyes and fell madly in love. Grace has been and independent strong willed little girl since she was pulled into this world and I love it. Her personality has already blossomed into something indescribable. I will do my best though She is as strong as an ox built like a Tibbitts ready to work hard for what she wants and nothing stands in her way. She is as stubborn as a Fitzgerald, once she has her mind made up, nobody could ever change it and be ready for a fight if you try. She is without a doubt our child. Beautiful, smart , loving, and my personal favorite she is benevolent. This year has flown by so quickly that I can barely catch my breathe. Although it was a very happy moment to watch her plow into the cake head first( EVERY MOTHERS DREAM COME TRUE), I was caught off guard with feelings of sadness. I knew she would never be one again and the moments I have shared with her over this past year would never return. But nevertheless it is progress and that brings me joy beyond anything else! So here are a few pictures from the first year. They are out of order but the pictures you see are all her first!

To sum it up, sitting up for the first time, her first Halloween, first bath, right after birth, last preggo shot, first horse ride, first steps, first fishing trip, first mess, first Christmas, first birthday..., first merry go round ride,Grammy Tibbitts, Grammy and Papa Fitzgerald, first slide, first winter, First time in a high chair, first best friend, first time in a pool, first time crawling.
